This one-and-a-half-hour class breaks down into two stages: first and just like a chef you will put on your apron to discover the steps of creating the shells and the ganache, the filling and the assembly. Then comes the convivial moment of tasting, shared with a group of 18 people.

Macaron classes for adults
The adult macaron class is for anyone aged 12 and above who wants to learn to make delicious macarons. Please note if participants are aged between 12 and 16 they must be accompanied by an adult.
These macaron-making classes are also ideal for couples, singles or anyone who wants to learn the art of creating the perfect French desert.
Macaron classes for families
The family macaron class is a unique activity to do with the kids on a trip to France and a great chance to explore the delights of French cuisine. This family macaron-making workshop is perfect for children aged 5-12, who must be accompanied by an adult.
Where is it ?
Classes are held on the 3 rd floor of the main Galeries Lafayette store on Boulevard Haussman.
This allows you plenty of time to shop for ingredients at the Gourmet Market and bakeware in the dining section of the store after your culinary voyage into macaron-making.

First created in Venetian monasteries, this traditional French dessert was brought to France by Catherine di Medici of Florence. Macarons later gained their popularity from the ‘Macaron Sisters’, two French nuns who sought asylum in Nancy. The story goes that the sisters baked and sold macarons to help with their living expenses.
For years, chefs have studied how to make the perfect macaron. Today’s macarons are like a tiny meringue sandwich, held together with delicious ganache – a staple of French dessert cuisine.

If the minimum number of participants is not reached, Galeries Lafayette reserves the right to cancel the class. In this case, you will be reimbursed for the entirety of the amount paid. You may cancel on your behalf, without fees, up to 48 hours in advance. After this time, the full amount of the class will be charged.
